Congratulations @artstoheartsproject for your new publication! I am so thrilled to be part of @100emergingartworks 2024 and love all the art that @thejealouscurator has chosen!!

I want to thank the @ontarioartscouncil immensely for the Craft Project grant that I received in 2021, and my amazing Arts and Craft Officer @lisawohrle in particular. This grant gave me the opportunity to research, create, explore, and grow in ways that would have been entirely impossible otherwise. Thank you for believing in me and in the transformative role of art in our society!

The resulting work is called “Movimientos”. An immigrant to Canada myself, I draw from my personal experience to reflect on tradition, transformation, and resilience. With my porcelain, I tried to evoke different global movements, suddenly interrupted by COVID-19 and now occurring with a renewed intensity, and their impacts on humans and on nature. I look forward to showing it! Gracias a el amor en mi vida Christopher, Ofelia, Flora y Gabriel por ser mis cómplices en este camino de la vida.
