Carolina Delgado-Duruflé recuperates everyday objects often overlooked or even discarded -typewriters, helmets, boots, trumpets, teapots, toy cars- and turns them into decorative art pieces, gardens and installations. Her plant interventions operate on the basis that objects that have lost their original function can start a new lifecycle as planters. She matches their shape, colour, and texture to those of plants from all over the world, including succulents, cacti, and airplants, and powerfully demonstrates how creativity and life can triumph over disposal and destruction.
